It can cause engine damage
Few of the things that can cause Preignition are debris formed on pistons due to running the engine for so long on system too lean, using spark ⚡️ plugs with low heat range than recommended and too hot exhaust valves
It happens that, once the air and fuel ratio is mixed, the hot surface will ignite the mixture before the actual ignition timing set by the Brainbox
The engine is working against itself
Preignition is different from detonation and only the Knock sensor can detect them
This is why it’s very important for you to fix the bad knock sensor in your car
Preignition and detonation can damage the engine but the knock sensor is there to monitor and report to the ECM for possible ignition timing adjustments
Avoid running your engine on lean conditions, avoid buying low quality plugs and avoid internal engine overheating
I hope this help someone out there
Good morning and have a great day ahead ❤️🙏🚘
